Our Leadership

CARY POTTS
Cary is responsible for overseeing all the day-to-day administrative requirements for the company. With over 14 years in the Atlanta construction market, Cary brings an extensive operational background and knowledge base as it relates to successfully managing a wide variety of construction and project management, ranging from large, multifaceted initiatives to single-purpose projects. Cary holds a BA from Washington and Lee University and a MA from Georgia State University.

MARK MISHOE
Mark is a third-generation ironworker. After a distinguished 8 yr career in the United States Air Force, where he earned a degree in Aeronautics from the CCAF, Mark returned home to become the Operations Manager for Brinks Security. Despite his success there, Mark decided to return to the family business, partnering with his father to form Gary’s Welding. Drawing on over 45 years of combined experience hanging steel, Mark has developed a reputation as one of the most trusted steel erectors in the region. With a broad knowledge base and an established commitment to customer service, Mark’s ability to deliver complex steel solutions on time and under budget is widely recognized in the industry. These skills have allowed Mark to cement the place of State Steelwork’s field operations unit among the elite iron workers in Atlanta and the Southeast.
Henry Marin
Henry has worked in the steel industry for 29 years. He got his start in a steel joist fabrication shop with Quincy Joist Company in 1996 and worked his way up to fill positions in estimating, sales, and project management in the structural and miscellaneous steel industry. His attention to detail, extensive knowledge in the field, and commitment to customer service have helped place him in the position of Senior Estimator for State Steel Works.
Jeremiah Matthews
Jeremiah Matthews is a preconstruction professional with over 10 years of experience specializing in structural steel. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University and maintains an Engineering Intern (EI) certification. Throughout his career, Jeremiah has consistently demonstrated his expertise in cost analysis, value engineering, and early-phase project planning. His deep understanding of structural systems, combined with his analytical approach, allows him to provide accurate and efficient estimates that contribute to successful project outcomes.
Maria Fauscett
Maria grew up in the commercial construction business. She has worked in construction from the time she was a teenager to present. She has worked in every area from Administration, Scheduling, Estimating to Project Managing. She loves the business and the many diverse and intelligent people she has met in the business. She relishes every aspect of construction from the process of pre-construction to completion. It has always amazed her to see a building born on paper and then to see the finished building. Almost every building/project is different and unique. It has inspired her to see and learn something new with each project. She believes every step from the foundation to finish takes a village of people. Maria is enjoying and embracing the opportunity to learn and work with all the highly qualified, knowledgeable, and motivated people at State Steelworks. When not working, Maria volunteers with several dog rescues and enjoys doing pilates & yoga, being outdoors, and hanging with her dogs.
Jeremy Woodham
Jeremy started his construction career right out of college working for his father’s construction company as a field foreman. In 1994, Jeremy transitioned his focus from the field to the structural steel industry. Determined to learn all faucets of the industry, Jeremy started working in a structural steel fabricator shop, later moving into the engineering department as a detailer. With his growing experience and expertise of the fabrication, detailing and erection side of the business, Jeremy moved back into the office taking on positions in Estimating before moving into Project Management and Sales roles. Jeremy is a key asset to State Steelworks as he has over 28 years’ experience in the structural steel construction industry in sales, contracts, project management and 15 years in structural steel estimating.
CHRIS WISNIEWSKI
Christopher has been a part of the construction and manufacturing industry for 18 years, 16 years working exclusively within the steel trade. He began his career in the shipbuilding industry at Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, now Hanwha Philly Shipyard. During his 11-year tenure within the shipbuilding industry, he worked from an apprentice to a journeyman within the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, became an AWS certified welder, learned lean manufacturing processes and ISO 9001 quality management systems, and eventually led high performing teams responsible for installation of the vessel’s machinery and piping systems. He relocated to Georgia in 2018 and worked as a millwright for a period of time while he attended Georgia State University to earn an Associate of Science in Business Administration. Upon completion of his degree in 2020, he began working in the commercial construction industry. Throughout the past 5 years, Chris has operated as a project manager for two mid-sized steel fabricators/erectors, Midsouth Steel LLC (AISC certified) and Coastal Metal of GA, and a large general contractor, JE Dunn Construction. In these positions, he has been able to apply his technical expertise and experience with his business acumen to lead successful projects and enhance business operations by improving team quality and performance, mitigating risk, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing new processes.
Jake Wallin
Jake grew up working residential construction for a small family-owned company where he got his first experience in the construction business. After 5 years of learning the trade, Jake transitioned to chemical manufacturing where he served as batch manufacturing manager for a GMP cosmetic company, that worked with and around highly volatile chemicals. After a small incident with some hazardous chemical vapors, Jake took a strong interest and desire to focus his knowledge and experience in the safety field. To help cultivate his knowledge in construction industry, he has completed the Ga Tech 500 and 510 to obtain the safety trainer status and is currently continuing education through course. Jake has been employed with State Steelworks going on 8 years with no serious incident involving safety.
